Biography

Born in Margate in 1994, I graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2016 with a first class BA honours in Illustration and printmaking. I chose to specialise in printmaking due to the tactile nature of print, a slower more labour intensive way of making work. This led to a more thoughtful and contemplative approach. In 2016 I was awarded runner up for the Dorset Visual Arts Prize with a research and practical project about the visible hand which was later featured in an article by the Association of Illustrators.

Balancing between photography and drawing I make work about our connection with nature. My Illustration work is created with pencil on paper.

From 2016 - 2019 I worked in-house with English skincare and fragrance brand Haeckels. Focusing on the promotion of natural health and wellbeing, this felt like a very personal series of work as I was also connecting with my hometown of Margate after leaving at a young age. I have been working full time as a freelance photographer and illustrator since 2019 and balance my focus between working with commercial brands and my own print collection. Over the past few years I have worked alongside an eclectic mix of creatives and clients which has allowed me to build a diverse portfolio of artwork. In 2019 I was given the valuable opportunity to work with Wolfgang Buttress, capturing stills and video which documented the creation and installation of ‘Liminal’ located on the River Thames, UK. In 2020 I was commissioned to create a new body of work for Copeland(Cumbria) Council in the study area which shall be used for the project identity, design and web sites.

More recently I was commissioned to create a series of Illustrations for the Wilderness Reserve Brochure (country houses, luxury farmhouses and holiday cottage to rent all set on a 8000 acre private estate) as well as creating series of botanical illustrations depicting the natural ingredients for YOKO. I have also had the honour of having my work featured in some of my favourite publications, including; two separate articles in Water journal ‘Dedicated to the experience and cultural significance of water, it exists to tell honest stories from around the world, whether it’s of a personal matter or on a global scale’, A landscape photograph in the July/ August 2021 Issue of Condé Nast Traveller.

Limited Edition Prints are printed as a C-Type Print on Fuji Crystal Archive. Silver-based Digital C-type prints are archival photographic prints. About the paper; Fuji Crystal archive paper with a semi-matt finish. The paper is coated with a slightly stippled texture giving a very natural photographic finish with subtle colour.

Illustration prints - Fine Art Giclee Print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm. This paper has a super matt finish. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel which creates smooth colour gradients.
